batam on fri was fabulous!
ok..at least tt applied only to the shopping n perhaps for only for me..
i went across e international waters w no bags at all n came back w a bag tt was stuffed to e brim.n even e bag was new.
i wish to haf taken pics of wad i bought n e experience we had but i did sth stupid tt morn.

yah..so my conquests were
2 polo ralph T's (1 of which were co-sponsored by jr n jas:thank u so much!)
1 polo ralph T for dear who cud not join us (haha..i had to delay this entry til aft i gave it to u)
1 adidas sweater
1 'adidas' bag
n lastly LOTS OF FUN w jas,jr n sab.

okay..it may not seem alot but u add up e costs along w transport,food etc n i feel a wee bit broke.
i almost got more stuff...alas..alas..if only they had appropriate sizes for those stuff..
quiksilver board shorts frm boutique at $55 or so was a huge temptation but damn,they did not haf e size for wad i wanted..
n LEVI's..man,if those in JB were cheap,batam was SUPER cheap.
Ladies n Gentlemen,i jus saw e cheapest ever levi's jeans in my life!levi's 508 at S$53.omg!
i wud haf bought it if they had my size!argh!they had 30 n 32 but no 31..argh..e average pair of levi's there were like S$80+?n do not think tt they r those tt u find in S'pore in e trolley on sale..NOOO!!
even 'square cut' jeans were like S$80+ way below those in S'pore..
ok..u may haf said tt it was a blessing in disguise tt they did not've my size but well,i rather be broke than not buy those stuff man..

IN A NUTSHELL:
our first impression of batam was different frm wad we expected.it seemed rather 'more developed' than we thought.yah..tt was e view frm e fastcraft as we approached e island.Resorts and shopping centres seemed to welcome us..aft we cleared e customs,we saw 2 money changers.u know,money changers always haf e horizontal bars like those in prison?well,both had women who were like 'yao huan qian mah?'n they were speakin in tt draggy tone tt sounded rather scary.yah.so we looked ard @ e ferry terminal n found POLO RALPH LAUREN!heh..again do not think tt jus bcoz its cheap,its a fake.heard its coz e factory is in jakarta so its cheaper.i m not gng to give a lesson on outsourcing etc but for those who've branded clothes,look @ e labels n tel me how many of them r actually produced in say e USA or Europe?nike,levi's n even polo ralph is being produced in countries like vietnam,china etc.
heh..we spent a rather long time in tt place n tt was ROUND 1.

we tried n got a CAB.haha..aft trying to solicit his services to us,this driver cud not start his car!so in e end,we got another cab to DC mall or Diamond City Mall.A complete disaster,or should i be kinder for at least i bought a bag there.Wad comes to mind when i saw this place?yah..it was rather empty but even then,it was rather stuffy..cud not relli feel e aircon at all.so aft explorin e whole building,we slacked at..A&W's trying to decide wad e plan wud b..so we thought we wud go haf dinner first.

933 GOLDEN PRAWN RESTAURANT was where we went next.we hopped on this car but i wud not call it a cab bcoz it did not look like one n went there.
our first look n mind u,IT WAS HUGE!
i dare bet tt there was at least 300 tables or more.
we had to gesture one of e many waiters over.ermm..not bcoz it was empty but they were all slacking ard lor..
MENU WAS IN MALAY!!
argh..
it sure was hard to converse w them.buns?prawns?wah..can joke abt e actions tt we did..
we ordered 3 dishes..
i m not nitpicking but s jr said,e prawns turned out s large s those his mum adds to veggies,e chilli crab was too oily n kai lan was such a small serving.

in e end,we paid abt S$10 each.JB was better.
service was bad.food was bad.price was bad.

seeing tt time was running out on us,we hopped back to MEGA MALL.
strict security greeted us as we went in.bomb checks on e cab,checks on bags.oh,thumbs up!
Brr...if DC Mall was stuffy,this was rather COLD.ermm..s sab put it,mebe centrepoint standard.

then we went back to POLO RALPH LAUREN.
ROUND 2:
MISSION: To finish up excess rupiah tt we've left. we were rushing for time coz e last fastcraft would haf been leaving.we rushed n rushed n ran n ran...n when we boarded e fastcraft,we realised we were 15mins early.hahah..sounds like "rush to wait,wait to rush"

the breeze on e deck was relli strong at nite.being out there in open made me feel so carefree.

if u thought e day ended here,we proceeded for mahjong at my pl..i learnt mahjong finally!many thanks to all for being patient w me!prata was later included due to many rumbling stomachs frm e less than satisfactory dinner.

finally went to bed abt 9am a tired but satisfied boy.

i relli enjoyed myself.did u?
