'Live' update
"Here's the weather report for Tuesday 2nd Oct 2007. This is Kelvin reporting 'live' from an ulu part of Singapore. Dark, overcast sky with temperatures of 23 deg to 31 deg. Showers expected in the late afternoon."
Yeah! Tts what I see from my 'window seat'. Am in northern part of Sg, separated from our friendly neighbours with just a patch of deep, blue sea between us. U must be thinking how come I am so free to be blogging at this hr. That's bcoz everyone seem to be so busy doing their stuff tt all they say is "later can?", "how abt tmr?" Anything to tt extent.
Who says a***t is a glamorous job? Perhaps mebe only to those older generation who think "wah, da xue sheng yi ding you qian tu!" Think 'high class' customer service personnel. Well, the garmen coined the term 'service with a smile' right? Smile and smile. Just like taking photos. See someone along the corridor whom you don't know? Smile n u won't go wrong. Tts e rule of thumb everywhere.
My seat here faces the window. And all i see is trees, trees and more trees. I dun get to see the seaview here though. I still prefer the seaview back in office. I din think of blogging till a fren gave mi e idea to blog. Alas, photos taken recently are all at home. Bear with mi and my paragraphs of words. Its been a long time since I felt like 'penning' down my thoughts.
On hindsight, I feel like I am finally earning my keep. After weeks of odd jobs here n there, I am out here on my first real job. Starting from the bottom rung of the corporate ladder means I will have plenty of questions. Luckily the pple here are all extremely nice and hence I am spared from the 'frightening' stories which have accompanied some of my peers as they go out on a***t.
Some random thoughts to takeaway:
1. being a guy helps get things done. I've long heard stories of female accountants favouring male a***tors.
2. Being out on a***t in an ulu place is not as bad as what pple think. Other than the disadvantage of often cannot-make-it food with no choices at all, we are able to travel comfortably to and fro work.
